Blogger Awards from Zmaga (and Debbie!) make me blissful :)

My Darling Devotees,

Quite a while back (Sorry it took so long, dearest) the lovely Zmaga tagged me for not one but two really awesome blogger awards! Thank you so much!

Rules:
1. Post the logo on my blog.
2. Pass the award on to 12 other bloggers.
3. Link the nominees' blogs so others can get to know them.
4. Let nominees know they have won this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to the person you received this award from.

The only rule for the I love your blog award is to tag 13 bloggers whose blogs I love :)

I think I'm going to have to tweak the rules a little because altogether that would be 25 bloggers to link and I feel like linking 25 bloggers I love might be overkill. Instead I will just link 10 of the ones that have been inspiring me a lot right now, and that I haven't linked before ( or in quite awhile) so that you lovely people can 'meet' them too :)

Also Debbie of The College Years has tagged me for another award but that deserves its own post too. It's a pretty epic award that requires some soul searching :)

Love you all and Stay inspired,

P.S. So let me know what you think. Do you know all of these blogs (if not, you should definitely check them out :) ) Feel free to let me know in the comments below.

Blogger Award from Chocolate Lemonade and New Blogger Tag (sorta :P)

Dearest Devotees,
As I was catching up on my blog reading last night I stumbled across an award for me from Catie of Chocolate Lemonade! Thank you Catie! She is fabulous and real and if you haven't already you should check out her blog and spread the love :)

The only rules for this award is to place it on the blog and link to 13 of my most beloved bloggers. This is always really hard because I know so many beautiful and wonderful bloggers and would really love to give it to all the bloggers I love but c'est pas possible.

I pass this award to:

And now for the Blogger Tag:
I think I'll call it the "3-5-3" tag.
Rules:
List 3 things that you would want on a deserted island if there was food and water.
List 5 of your favorite novels of all time.
Tag 3 other bloggers.

I'll go first.

Three things I'd want on a deserted island:

1. My Bible (I might be there for a while and my faith is important to me)
2. My Drawing Kit (pencil, pen, eraser, sharpener and Sketchbook)
3. Notebook ( I always want to be able to write a novel, a new song, etc at a moments notice.)
5 0f my Favorite novels of all time in no particular order.
1. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery- I just loved Anne Shirley.
2. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling- Really hard to pick one but if I had to I would pick book 4.
3. Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot- I think Book 3 because it was the pivotal part of Mia and Michael's relationship- when he told her he loved her via the cutest most romantic computer message in the history of time.
4. Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief- Two words by Rick Riordan: Greek Mythology.
5. If You Could See Me Now by Cecelia Ahern. Words cannot describe my love for this book. P.S. I love you was great but if you haven't read this, please do. You won't be sorry.

And I pass this tag to:

Love you all and Stay inspired,

P.S. So let me know what you think. What kind of books do you love to read? Feel free to let me know in the comments below.

A Day in the Life: Thank you my darling Canadieren

Photo from : Jessica Ortwerth

Dearest Devotees,

So a little while ago, the fabulous Canadieren tagged me for the Beautiful Blogger Award! She is one of my favorite fashion bloggers and you should definitely stop by and give her my love. So now I'm supposed to say seven things about me and tag some of my favorite bloggers.
Seven things about me you may not know:

1. My real name is Frances but Aury is my Artistic Alias (sort of like a pen name, that I use for my books, this blog and other creatively linked things.)
2. I am Nigerian, and can understand and speak, albeit not fluently, a language called Esan.
3. I get really excited for the most random things... (Random thing of the Day: Hey Arnold! reminisces in Methods of Construction class).
4. I frequently wish I could fly but I am deathly afraid of heights.
5. I love the beach but huge bodies of water (read: the ocean) scare me too.
6. I wish Katie Soloker was one of my best friends.
7. I love people A LOT but I also really enjoy my own company.

It appears I am a paradox.

I pass this award to the bloggers of :

Love you all and Stay inspired,

P.S. So let me know what you think. Are you as paradoxical as I am? What is (or seems) really conflicting about your personality? Feel free to let me know in the comments below.

Seeking Inspiration: Whatever it takes

Photo from: Kicki

Dearest devotees,

This week has been wonderful in so many incredible ways. I got my first 2 blogger awards within days of each other, I did my first Costume Design assignment, had my first intermediate piano class and met my Economics and Reading Shakespeare teachers both of whom I love to death even though their classes may just kill me work- wise (I hope not!). All in all, a fabulous week improved by the encouraging presence of Whatever It Takes by Lifehouse. In this post, I thanked DT for my first award, The Haute Mess Award, and passed it on to some other fabulous people. Since I wrote that post, Zmaga has tagged me for the Kreativ Blogger Award!

Thank you so much Zmaga darling! It means a lot to me. Now, for 7 things about me:

  1. I went to boarding school for 6 years of Secondary School.

  2. I love languages but the ones I love the most are my first language (Esan) and French.

  3. I have a huge extended family and a relatively big immediate family composed of 4 kids (including myself), my mom and dad, my baby brother's nanny/our cook.

  4. I love animals and once wanted to be a zoologist. I also wanted to be a vet, medical doctor, ballet dancer, cosmetologist, a filmmaker/director, and fashion journalist.

  5. I am an Economics major with Theatre Arts and Film Studies minors.

  6. I have lived in 4 countries, 10 cities/towns and gone to several different schools, because my dad's an ambassador.

  7. One of my favorite places in the world is Northern Ireland because I've spent some of the best holidays of my life there, I've got great family and friends there and it symbolizes total peace for me.

I am happy to pass this award on to the following truly inventive blogs:

Cafe Fashionista

Yes and Yes

Keiko Lynn

Color me Katie

Mermaid in a Manhole

Kokoro

Laura's Style

Congratulations Darlings!!!

And here is the exercise for this week:

Please write....
Please write.... by aury4eva featuring Temperley London dresses

As I wake up, I feel the heat of the sun on my face radiating through the glass of my bedside window. I get up and glance out the window. It's a perfect day, absolutely beautiful yet something is missing. There is an ache in my heart, a hole where someone used to be....then it all comes back to me....

He's gone...

He'd been anxiously awaiting the letter for weeks and on Monday it finally came...the letter that sealed our fate.

Six months ago, before we had even met, my true love wrote to Harvard Medical School , asking to take part in a special one-year program in which they would run several case trials on possible cures for aids and cancer. One month ago he told me that he had made the short list and would probably receive an acceptance letter soon. I tried to be happy for him, acting the part of the supportive girlfriend and helping him prepare for his trip. I kept all my feelings locked inside as we made promises of keeping in touch and waiting for each other. Yesterday, I tried to be strong as we kissed goodbye and I wished him luck.Last night, the tears I'd shed weakened me and helped me fall asleep. Today, I look at the window and silently beg my love one thing...

Please write.

I made this set on Polyvore a while ago and wrote a short story to go with it then too. I would love to know your takes on it.

Love you all and Stay Inspired,

P.S. So let me know what you think. What comes to your mind when you see the image above? And how has your week been? Feel free to let me know in the comments below.
